Mrs Elliot revisited Water Safety with us during "Little Assembly" last week. We talked about where we need to be safe (beach, swimming pools, dams, rivers, ponds, creeks, baths - anywhere where there is ankle deep water). We were impressed with how much the children took in and remembered, with the main points being:
* Buddy Up - Always swim with a buddy
* Adult Supervision - Always swim with an adult watching - properly watching, not half watching
* Dive safely - Always check the depth of the water before diving
* Patrolled beaches - Always swim between the flags and obey the directions of the lifeguards. They could be wearing red and yellow (volunteers) or blue (paid, during the school holidays).
