One of the sounds we have been learning this week was “y” as in yellow. We opened up our craft table to free artwork with a yellow theme, and wow, the children were amazing artists! Check out our yellow gallery below...
Ask your child what “area” means... and you’ll probably find they reply “it’s the space inside” - the space inside a boundary or inside a shape. The children have really grasped this concept through a range of hand on activities. You will have seen the picnic blanket each child brought home showing their measurements using square units. Check out the short videos below to see parts of our introduction to area...
Please make a cuppa, sit back and relax and enjoy a snippet into the day in the life of Kindergarten. It was extremely difficult to condense a full day into one video... but we think you’ll gain a good glimpse. Enjoy! Letter sounds x and w involved x rays and wood work, x marks the spot and wonderful watermelons. We measured area and made picnic blankets for cats, rabbits, snakes and lizards.
